18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.”[a]

19 Now we know that whatever the Torah says, it says to those within the Torah, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become accountable to God. 20 For no human, on the basis of Torah observance, will be set right in His sight[b]—for through the Torah comes awareness of sin.

19 Now we know that whatever the law says,(B) it says to those who are under the law,(C) so that every mouth may be silenced(D) and the whole world held accountable to God.(E) 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law;(F) rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.(G)
