John 12:31-33

³¹Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast out; ³²and I, when I am lifted up^[a] from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” ³³He said this to show by what death he was to die.

12.32 lifted up: i.e., on the cross; but the words also contain a reference to his going up into heaven. The two mysteries are inseparable.
