Jeremiah 7:17-19

¹⁷ Can’t you see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? ¹⁸ The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead dough to make sacrificial cakes for the queen of heaven. And to offend me all the more, they pour out drink offerings to foreign gods. ¹⁹ But am I the one they are really offending? declares the Lord. Aren’t they in fact humiliating themselves?
