14 [a]For if we believe that Jesus is dead, and is risen, even so them which sleep in [b]Jesus, will God [c]bring with him.
15 [d]For this say we unto you by the [e]word of the Lord, that [f]we which live, and are remaining in the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them which sleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a [g]shout, and with the voice of the Archangel, and (A)with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

- 1 Thessalonians 4:14 A reason of the confirmation, for seeing that the head is risen, the members also shall rise, and that by the virtue of God.

14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again,(A) and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.(B) 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord,(C) will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.(D) 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,(E) with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel(F) and with the trumpet call of God,(G) and the dead in Christ will rise first.(H)
